On September 10, 2019, Baidu and People's Medical Publishing House (PWEI) officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties will jointly build the most authoritative evidence-based medical knowledge system in China based on Baidu's leading and comprehensive artificial intelligence technology and PWEI's medical content and expert resources. And jointly promote CDSS (clinical assisted decision system) suitable for China's national conditions to continue to be implemented. As an important part of ensuring people's livelihood, how to provide primary medical services professionally and efficiently has always attracted attention from all circles, among which, the improvement of primary doctors' ability is particularly critical. Only when the quality of primary medical care is widely and authoritative, can patients trust primary institutions more and a closed loop of hierarchical diagnosis and treatment can be finally formed. The key to improve the ability of doctors is to present standardized and standardized decision support information to doctors in the most effective way and at the most appropriate time in the clinical environment. On the one hand, it needs to be based on the core content knowledge base built on authoritative medical knowledge; on the other hand, it needs to combine artificial intelligence technology with clinical practice. The two sides signed the strategic cooperation, relying on the People's Medical Publishing House's books, academic monographs, diagnosis and treatment guidelines, expert consensus, clinical cases and other massive authoritative medical knowledge content resources, and utilizing Baidu's leading artificial intelligence technology advantages such as natural language processing, semantic understanding, knowledge mapping, machine learning and deep learning. Medical content resources will be structured, labeled and clustered to jointly build the most authoritative evidence-based medical knowledge system in the medical industry, so that more grassroots medical staff can have more comprehensive and accurate medical information for reference and learning.
In addition, the two sides will leverage their respective advantages to develop CDSS (clinical decision aid System) suitable for China's national conditions through the integration of Baidu Brain AI technology and medical knowledge, to provide effective support for grassroots medical personnel.
